Water Well Trust and Partners Launch 21st Hometown H2O Project to Bring Safe Drinking Water to North Carolina Family

The Water Well Trust, a North Carolina–based nonprofit dedicated to providing rural Americans with access to safe and sustainable water, is proud to announce its 21st project in partnership with Xylem Watermark and the Chris Long Foundation’s Waterboys, founded by two-time Super Bowl champion Chris Long.

Through the Hometown H2O program—an initiative aimed at tackling the U.S. water crisis—this powerful collaboration will provide a new water well for a family in Candler, North Carolina, whose shared well was destroyed in a mudslide during Hurricane Helene.

This life-changing project is made possible thanks to the generous support of partners including Hajoca of Hendersonville, which is providing distribution support; the Vinyl Institute, donating PVC casing; and local drilling experts Camps Well & Pump, who will handle the drilling and installation. The family will receive a complete water system, including a new well, pump, tank, and all necessary infrastructure.

Launched in 2020, Hometown H2O is a joint effort between the Chris Long Foundation, Xylem Inc., and the Water Well Trust, designed to combat domestic water scarcity—an issue that impacts over 2 million Americans without reliable access to clean water. Together, these organizations bring critical resources and hope to families in need, one well at a time.
