The Water Well Trust is proud to celebrate another successful project made possible through the power of partnership and a shared commitment to ensuring families have access to safe, dependable drinking water.
Recently, the LaBille family of La Plata, Maryland, received a new residential water well system after years of struggling with an unreliable private water supply. The family of six, including four young children, had experienced a steady decline in the performance of their existing well for the past four years, creating challenges for everyday activities that most families rely on, including cooking, bathing, laundry, sanitation, and maintaining a healthy home.
Through the HometownH2O program, an initiative of Waterboys and The Chris Long Foundation, partners came together to provide a comprehensive water system solution for the family. The project included the installation of a new water well, pump, pressure tank, and all necessary equipment to restore reliable water service.
Numerous organizations and industry partners supported the effort. Watson Pump & Well Drilling Inc. provided professional drilling services and expertise to help bring the project to completion. Ferguson associates volunteered their time on-site, assembling play equipment for the family’s children and completing landscaping projects to further improve the property.
Additional support was provided by Xylem Inc., which donated the water well pump, and the Vinyl Institute donated the PVC well casing materials used in the project. These contributions helped ensure the family received a durable, long-lasting water infrastructure solution.
Access to reliable drinking water is essential for every household. When families lack dependable water service, nearly every aspect of daily life is affected. Projects like this demonstrate how collaboration among nonprofit organizations, industry partners, local contractors, and volunteers can create meaningful change and improve the quality of life for families in need.
